Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me, I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to Jive. Matthew 11 :28-29, MSG

Why do we continue preaching a God who cannot be approached to people who have spent most of their lives hiding from Him? Their concept of God is all wrong. Some have said to me, “God’s too holy, I can’t measure up.” Your acceptance is not based on His holiness, it’s based on His love. God thinks you’re worth saving so He redeems you by His love. His standards never change, but neither does His compassion. Listen: “His compassions fail not. They are new every morning ” (Lamentations 3:22-23). Without that, none of us have hope.

The basis of any relationship must be trust. We can talk to anyone about our successes, but we need someone we can talk to about our failures. We have to know for sure, that they understand the worst about us and still believe the best. If you want someone to love you completely, then they must know you completely, for only then will their love satisfy you. That’s why Jesus said, “Come to me.” You have nothing to fear when you tell it to Jesus, for you’re not telling Him anything He doesn’t already know. Even before you approach Him today, He has already made up His mind about you. You’re loved! You’re secure! You’re His! What more do you need?
