As the disciples stood round about him, he rose up, and came into the city – Acts 14:20

They stoned Paul and left him for dead, and the other disciples stood around, waiting to see if he would get back up. Child of God, if you’re waiting for others to come and lift you, it probably won’t happen. The first move is up to you when you make it, God will send others to help.

Paul said, “We faced conflict from every direction, with battles on the outside and fear on the inside. BUT GOD, who encourages those who are discouraged, encouraged us by the arrival of Titus.” (2 Corinthians 7:5-6, NLT). We need more believers like Titus with the ministry of encouragement. We give in so quickly. We blame circumstances or we blame others. Adam started it all: “It was the woman you gave me who gave me the fruit, and I ate it” (Genesis 3:12, NLT). When God asked Eve about it, she blamed the devil!

Until you can accept responsibility for yourself, you can’t get anywhere with God. Until you can accept correction without resentment, your life will remain on hold. Get up! Your problems aren’t unique- you’re not the first person to fail. You would be amazed at how many of us are fighting the same battle and showing some of the same scars. Your problem isn’t that you fell; it’s that you haven’t gotten back up! Be like the man who said, ” I’m never down, I’m always getting back up!”
