Pastor Nate Carter

We’ve all had days when we’d like to quit. I’ve had lots of them. But where are we going to go? … back to our old lifestyle? … back to depending upon our own ability? Remember all the trouble you used to get into? It was your best thinking that got you there. When I was a boy we used to sing, ”Stand up, stand up for Jesus, stand in His strength alone; the arm of flesh will fail you, ye dare not trust your own.”

Perhaps you feel like you’re fighting for your life. People have let you down. Satan has attacked you, and you haven’t done as well as you thought you would. Cheer up; child of God, His enablement will always exceed His requirement. He has a larger plan in mind. He’s dealing with some areas in your lives that have been holding you back. Things like doubt; fear of people; fear of failure; spiritual pride; self-centeredness … these things usually only float to the surface when we find ourselves in hot water. Be encouraged, God has a plan for your life, and today He is working that plan out. On days like this, heed the words of Paul: “Having done all … stand” (Ephesians 6: 13).
