“But I have prayed for you, Peter, that you would stay faithful to me no matter what comes. Remember this: after you have turned back to me and have been restored, make it your life mission to strengthen the faith of your brothers.” Luke 22:32, TPT
Peter denied his Lord three times and went out into the night and wept bitterly. Jesus told him it would happen, but he couldn’t believe it. That’s why it was so shattering. Child of God, have you experienced failure in your life lately? Do you feel like you’re not worthy of His love and forgiveness? Remember, Peter’s failure was no surprise to Jesus. He knew what Peter was when He picked him, and He knew what you were too. Nothing about you is a surprise to Him.
Since He didn’t pick you because of your virtue, He’s not going to throw you away because of your shortcomings. Moses told the Israelites, “The LORD thy God turned the curse into a blessing” (Deuteronomy 23:5). The same one who told Peter that he would fail, also told him he would be fully restored and would be able to minister to people he could never have touched before.
Some denominations would have put Peter out of the ministry and disqualified him forever. But God not only restored him, He made him spokesman on the day of Pentecost. That day, God used him to win 3,000 souls to Christ. Let God turn your mistakes into miracles today. Let Him use the lessons and the low points of your life to strengthen and bless others.
