“But my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ.” Philippians 4:19, NIV
“His riches!” Think about it; who else would tell a prophet in the middle of a famine to go sit by a stream in the mountains and birds will show up every evening with fresh meat? Who would tell exhausted fishermen who had “fished all night and caught nothing” to cast their net on the right side? How about filling pots with water, and then pouring it into the wineglasses of the guests, and believing that what went in as water, would come out as wine? How about manna from heaven?-or blessings that pursue you until they overtake you? These things can only be found in God’s storehouse. When God says He’ll meet ALL your needs, according to His riches, He’s saying your job is not your source, and your bank account is not your security.
Do you really believe the Bible, or are you just reading stories? Isn’t it time that you made up your mind that the God who did all these things for His people in Bible days is willing, waiting, and wanting to do them for you, too? God ahead, place your needs beside His riches, and you’ll see just how well off you really are. Then say with David, “The Lord [the One who’s in charge of everything] is my shepherd, I shall not want [for anything].” What a way to face the day!
