“The thing I seek most of all, is the privilege of … living in His presence every day.” Psalm 27:4, TLB
There’s no place like God’s presence. Things happen there that can’t happen anywhere else. Moses found that place, and when he did, the bush burned and
he talked face to face with God. Awesome! But look at the price tag. He had to leave the crowd, leave his family, climb a mountain, and spend forty days alone
with God. Most of us can’t spend forty minutes with Him. God won’t take second place to your appetites or agenda or anything else in your life.
David said, “One thing have I desired of the LORD” (Psalm 27:4). He said that after he’d tried all the other things we spend our lives pursuing. Then he went
further and said, “That will I seek after.” If you desire Him, you’ll pursue Him and get rid of anything that comes between you and Him. Read on, “That I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life.” This is for those who are tired of commuting in and out. It’s for those who’ve decided that what really matters is not seeking His hand for a handout, but seeking His face for a relationship. There’s no place like God’s presence.
