“Is not My Word like a fire?” Says the LORD, “And like a hammer that breaks the rock in pieces?” – Jeremiah 23:29

What you hear often enough you will eventually believe, and what you believe will determine your direction, your decisions, and your destiny. Paul told the Philippians, “I never get tired of telling you this, and it is good for you to hear it again and again” (Philippians 3:1, TLB). How often do you have to listen before you really hear? How often do you have to hear before you start putting it into practice? Someone suggested that when you put something into practice consistently for thirty days, it becomes part of you. Not every page in a devotional may be just what you need; but when you find one that is, read it over and over until it becomes part of you.

Jesus said, ” … the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life” (John 6:63, NKJV). First His Words enter your spirit, and then they become a part of your life. Otherwise you’re simply going through the motions. The point is this: you need to be hammered continually by the Word until your carnal nature has been crushed and broken. Then you can start getting somewhere with the Lord. Child of God, let the Word of God get a hold of you today.
