This I know God is for me. Psalm 56:9

When you know that God is for you, you can face anything. That doesn’t mean life will be a bed of roses. Paul said to “endure hardship as a good soldier” (2 Timothy 2:3). The new birth brings new battlefields and a new enemy to conquer. The war against you is on three fronts, and, by yourself, you’re not equal to the enemy you’re facing.

First, the world, whose pressures and influences seek to mold you every day. Next you discover, the flesh will try to get you to live by what “feels” good and not by the Word. Finally, the devil, whose strategy is to get you off track and make you so weak you’re no threat to his kingdom and no benefit to God.

But the good news is you’re not alone. The God who opened the Red Sea and shut the lions’ mouths is your God. Sure, the Israelites had to face the Red Sea, there was no other way. And Daniel probably wouldn’t have chosen to spend the night in a lion’s den if they’d given him another option. But God brought them through victoriously and since He says, “I am the LORD, I change not” (Malachi 3:6). He’s going to do it for you, too. Now begin to say it: “This I know, God is for me.”
