“Through Christ, God has made peace between us and Himself, and God gave us the work of telling everyone about the peace we can have with him … So we have been sent to speak for Christ. ” – 2 Corinthians 5: 18, 20 NCV
When my children were young, I went to their room to say goodnight. As I finished praying, my youngest son, Jonathan, spoke up and said, “Daddy, I’ve learned what the purpose of life is.” I thought to myself, “This is going to be great! What does a six-year-old know about the purpose of life?” And so I responded, “Okay Jonathan, what is the purpose of life? “ln a quiet and simple voice he said without hesitation, “It’s living for Jesus.” My mouth dropped open.
I was totally stunned. My six-year-old son shared a profound truth that many never discover in a lifetime. The true essence of success is living for Jesus. Paul recognized this truth when he wrote: “The most important thing is that I complete my mission, the work that the Lord Jesus gave me – to tell people the Good News about God’s grace (Acts 20:24 NCV).” Why ot share God’s unconditional love with someone today? You’ll be g lad you did!
