“What is faith? It is the confident assurance that something we want is going to happen.” Hebrews 11 :1, TLB
The best definition of faith I’ve ever heard is, acting on what you believe. You may say you believe the Word, but are you acting on it? If not, all you have is a belief.
You can believe that God is real and yet never have a personal relationship with Him. You can believe the Bible is the Word of God, yet never see one of its promises fulfilled in your life.
When Jesus walked on the Sea of Galilee, eleven of the disciples believed it was Him but they all remained in the boat. Peter, however, stepped out and began walking toward Jesus. That’s faith!
Listen: “So the-n faith comes [continually] by hearing [continually], and hearing by the Word of God” (Romans 10: 1 7). You say, “I heard that years ago.” Maybe you did, but you have to hear it over and over again, for that’s how faith grows.
A woman touched the hem of Jesus’ garment and was healed. Jesus gave credit for the miracle to her faith; listen: “Your faith has made you whole” (Mark 5:34). The Bible says “Without faith it is impossible to please Him [God]” (Hebrews 11 :6). Today, get into the Word and start building your faith.
