“The righteousness of God which is by faith … upon all them that believe.” Romans 3:22

Righteousness simply means “right-standing.” It gives you the right to stand in the presence of God without fear or condemnation. Once you have an attitude of confidence before God you will be able to believe Him for victory in every area of your life. But you say, “How do I become righteous?” It comes by faith! You receive it the same way you received salvation.

Developing a “righteousness consciousness” will create in you a “victory consciousness.” First, there are some things you need to know:

1. He has blotted out all record of your sins (Colossians 2:14). You are no longer under the curse of the law, but under grace (Romans 6:14).

2. Jesus has set you free from “the curse of the law, which is sickness, lack, fear, defeat, and death” (Romans 8:2). Stop saying you’re unworthy! That’s what you were when He found you-but not anymore. You’re a new creation (2 Corinthians 5:17). Have you ever seen anything that God created that was unworthy or no good? No!

You’re His workmanship (Ephesians 2:1 O), and because of His sacrifice at Calvary and an empty grave, you can stand in His presence with confidence.
