“And straightway he constrained his disciples to get into the ship, and to go to the other side.” Mark 6:45
He’ll never send you on a trip that you can’t make. That doesn’t mean it will be easy, or that you won’t be frightened by the waves. Remember Psalm 23, “Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me” (Psalm 23:4). He doesn’t send you-He leads you and sustains you. How reassuring!
Something else; when you can’t see Him, He’s still watching over you. Jesus was on a mountain praying to the father, but the Bible says “He saw them toiling in rowing” (Mark 6:48). He sees your toil and your tears today. As Ethel Waters once sang, “His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me.”
And don’t forget, He is the master of the wind and the waves. There’s no situation He can’t handle. Listen: The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged” (Deuteronomy 31 :8). Finally, before the storm is over, God will be glorified in it, and your faith will grow stronger. Remember, your Father is a lot more interested in your character than He is in your comfort. So rejoice today, He’s going to bring you through.
