“Who hath believed our report? And to whom is the arm of the LORD revealed?” Isaiah 53:1

Every day you’ll be faced with circumstances that call on you to choose what you believe. Will you choose what God says, or what someone else says? It can be difficult when those voices of doubt are coming from people who have loved you, stood by you, and given you good advice in other areas. It takes grace to love them and yet quietly move in a different direction because they don’t know God’s Word on the matter, or they don’t have the faith to believe with you. Jesus said, “If any two of you shall agree as touching anything that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father” (Matthew 18:19).

Child of God, whose report are you going to believe? Faith is a fight, and sometimes that battle can be long. Listen to the testimony of Eleazar, on of David’s might men of valor. “He arose, and smote the Philistines until his hand was weary, and his hand clave unto the sword: and the LORD wrought a great victory that day” (2 Samuel 23:10). He became one with his sword, he stood his ground, and the Lord gave him great victory! Paul tells us to take the sword of the spirit, which is the word of God, and … stand (See Ephesians 6:12-18)! When the battle is Iong, when the enemy keeps coming at you, when there’s no end in sight-stand your ground! Child of God, tighten your grip on the sword and aim it squarely at the devil, and declare that your day of victory is at hand!
