Let us throw off everything that hinders. Hebrews 12:1, NIV

You’ll start getting well when getting well is what matters most to you. Let your desperation drive you beyond concern over the opinions of others. As long as you’re conscious of people and not conscious enough of God, you’ll never get what you need.

When Hannah, mother of Samuel, prayed in the temple, there was so much locked up in her that when she began to empty herself out, Eli thought she was drunk (See 1 Samuel 1 :13). God is raising up people who will confound us-radical Christians. They might even look drunk, like those on the day of Pentecost, but they’re hungry for God. They’ll raise the roof to get to Jesus. They’ll interrupt your carefully laid plans and cry like blind Bartimaeus, “Jesus, thou son of David, have mercy on me” (Mark 10:47). When you’re blind, all that matters is receiving your sight.

Child of God, when it looks like there’s no way out for you-start shouting! You have been chosen for a miracle. Faith is born in the storm and conceived in the incubator of impossibility. Don’t panic. Don’t quit. Don’t stop short of the prize-for the greater the conflict, the greater the conquest. You can’t even get toothpaste out of a tube without squeezing. There’s something good inside you and God wants to get it out. The question you need to answer today is: how badly do you want it?
