“When Jesus climbed out of the boat, a man possessed by an evil spirit came out from the tombs to meet him.” Mark 5:2, NLT

Jesus heard a cry nobody else heard. It came from a place nobody else wanted to go. And it came from a man nobody else wanted anything to do with. And when Jesus really lives in your heart, you’ll hear that cry, too. It will touch your spirit.

He was a madman who lived in a graveyard, and his appearance was enough to make any normal person avoid him. But something deep inside him longed to be free, and it reached out and touched the Spirit that was in Jesus. To get to him, Jesus had to go through a storm. He had to overcome the objections of His disciples who probably said, “Why risk it? He’s not worth it.”

Child of God, if you want to follow Jesus, then you’ll have to open your heart to a cry that nobody else is listening to. You can’t listen to the crowd around you, you’ve got to listen to the Spirit within you; He’ll tell you where to go. He’ll tell you who to minister to. You can’t be put off by their lifestyle or their appearance. All that matters is getting them to Jesus. Just get them to Him today, and He’ll take care of the rest.
